Kingdom, is a dense panorama of images and sounds which rapidly shift and rearrange. Drawing from a two dimensional archive of man’s representation of of nature, which ranges from the animal-centric prehistoric Chauvet cave paintings to National Geographic photography and Natural History Museum dioramas, the choreography moves through a concentrated assemblage of animalistic forms punctuated by the momentary intrusions of a half-human observer. Together with collaborators Kalliope Piersol, Owen Prum, Noa Rui-Piin Weiss, Isa Spector and Zo Williams and Derek Baron, the work conjures a vision of complicated entanglements of artificiality, power and spirit within a 21st century landscape.
